Fabrizio Lamberti - Short Biography

Fabrizio Lamberti received the MS and the PhD degrees in computer engineering from Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in 2000 and 2005, respectively. Currently, he is a Full Professor at the Department of Control and Computer Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, Italy. At the Department, he leads the Graphics and Intelligent Systems research laboratory, and is responsible for the hub of VR@POLITO, the Virtual Reality initiative of Politecnico di Torino.

He has authored and co-authored more than 200 technical papers in international books, journals and conferences in the areas of computer graphics, human-machine interaction and intelligent computing.

He is serving as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Computers, of the IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies, of the IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, and of the International Journal of Human-Computer Studies. Since October 2017 he is a Senior Editor of IEEE Consumer Electronics Magazine (previousy Associate Editor, from May 2015 to September 2017). From March 2015 to December 2019 he served as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing.

He has been the General Co-Chair and Program Chair of the 7th International Conference on Intelligent Technologies for Interactive Entertainment (INTETAIN 2015). In 2019 he has served as Program Co-Chair of the 39th IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE 2019) and as General Co-Chair of the 9th International Conference of Consumer Electronics in Berlin (ICCE-BERLIN 2019). In 2021 he will be the Program Co-Chair of the 28th IEEE International Symposium on Computer Arithmetic (ARITH 2021).

He served as Co-Guest Editor for a number of Special Issues, including the Special Issue on Emerging Trends in Education (video) and the Special Issue on Computing Education & Learning Technologies published on the IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing, the Special Issue on Advanced Interaction and Virtual/Augmented Reality and the Special Issue on Artificial Intelligence in Consumer Electronics published on IEEE Consumer Electronics Magazine, the Special Issue on Remote Visualization published on Computing and Visualization in Science, and the Special Issue on Virtual Puppetry - New Frontiers of Digital Character Animation published on Entertainment Computing.

He is a senior member of the IEEE and the IEEE Computer Society. He serves as Vice-President for the IEEE Computer Society, Italy Chapter. He is as Chair of the Society Conferences Technical-Streams Committee (SCTC), IEEE Consumer Electronics Society (CESoc).
