Fabrizio Lamberti received the MS and the PhD degrees in computer engineering from Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in 2000 and 2005, respectively. Currently, he is a Full Professor at the Department of Control and Computer Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, Italy. At the Department, he leads the Graphics and Intelligent Systems research laboratory, and is responsible for the hub of VR@POLITO, the Virtual Reality initiative of Politecnico di Torino.
He has authored and co-authored more than 240 technical papers in international books, journals and conferences in the areas of computer graphics, human-machine interaction and intelligent computing. He received the best paper and best student paper awards for papers submitted to ICCE-Berlin 2021, IISA2018, HUCAPP2017, UCMEDIA2009 and BIOSIGNAL2002 conferences.
He is serving as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Computers, IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies, IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, IEEE Consumer Electronics Magazine, and International Journal of Human-Computer Studies. He previously served as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing, and International Journal of Mobile Human Computer Interaction. .
He has been the General Co-Chair and Program Chair of the 7th International Conference on Intelligent Technologies for Interactive Entertainment (INTETAIN 2015). In 2019 he has served as Program Co-Chair of the 39th IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE 2019) and as General Co-Chair of the 9th International Conference of Consumer Electronics in Berlin (ICCE-BERLIN 2019). In 2021 he served as Program Co-Chair of the 28th IEEE International Symposium on Computer Arithmetic (ARITH 2021). Since 2004 he served as member of the Organizing Committee of other 10 international conferences, and of the Technical Program Committee other 30 international conferences.
He served as Co-Guest Editor for a number of Special Issues appeared, among others, on IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing, IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies, IEEE Consumer Electronics Magazine, IEEE Computing Now, Computing and Visualization in Science, and Entertainment Computing.
Since 2002, he is a Senior Member of IEEE. He is currently a Member of the Board of Governors (Elected Member at Large 2021–2023) of IEEE Consumer Technology Society (CTSoc). He is also serving as Vice President for Technical Activities of CTSoc. He is the Vice-Chair of the IEEE Computer Society, Italy Chapter (since 2019). He is a member of the IEEE Visualization and Computer Graphics Technical Committee. He has been admitted as life member of Eta Kappa Nu, the Honor Society of IEEE (2018).
